Can he?
Congratulations, Obama and America. It is a great success for the USA and for the world that a democrat rules the most powerful country of the world, after a political dry season of eight years. If there's a politician in the USA, who has the ability to overcome racism, unilateralism, and a climate of political ignorance, it is Barack Obama. But I fear that there could be a heavy hangover after the Obama-trip. I'm irritated by the lack of distance to a politician thousands of Americans (and people all over the world) show these days. They celebrate their country, which appears very strange to me. Where's the difference between patriotism and nationalism? A black president isn't the end of racial segregation and Obama isn't the messiah.America voted the change, but will it really come?I hope he can and will carry through most of his promises. Good luck.
How do human rights looks like?
Have you ever asked yourself what human rights look like? Not me, at any rate. I know what they are and what they mean, but what is their shape, what do they look like?To answer this question, I found an interesting page on the Internet: the net.art generator. I typed in "human rights," and the site generated the following diverse group of pictures:
Pretty interesting, I think. But is this the real shape of human rights, coincidence, or an artist's/computer's idea of human rights?
